Hanne Vedsted-Hansen
Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher
Hanne Vedsted-Hansen began her investigation of mindfulness as a result of dealing with her own chronic pain. After years of consistent meditation practice, she graduated as ’Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction’ (MBSR) teacher in 2014, followed by ’Mindful Self-Compassion’ (MSC) teacher in 2016. Hanne has trained with Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, the developers of the curriculum.
Hanne has taught a wide range of mindfulness courses, beginning with co-teaching a pilot project at Aarhus University Hospital in 2007 using mindfulness to empower women with chronic abdominal pain.
Hanne offers MSC courses (Danish and English language) on a regular basis, with chronic pain being her core competence:
“It is my mission to extend the reach of MSC to the ever-growing number of people suffering from chronic pain. It is my vision to create an authentic, reliable space in which chronic pain patients learn from, feel empowered by, and gain relief through, their MSC experience.”
During the Covid-19 pandemic Hanne co-taught Self Compassion for Healthcare Communities, SCHC to 400+ front liners at international hospitals.
Hanne also served as vice-chairman for the Danish Endometriosis society for 3.5 years followed by 4 years as chairman of the same organization.
