Liesel Lewis, RN, BSN, ONC, ACM
Endometriosis Advocate
Driven to pursue a career in service to others, Liesel Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington Adventist University. Following this accomplishment, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a nurse in various nursing specialties. A seasoned nurse with a proven record of success in acute care nursing, she excels today as a case manager for a local hospital in Maryland, where she identifies and coordinates discharge plans for patients at the hospital.
Liesel experienced her first menstrual cycle at twelve years old. Every month, she endured extreme symptoms of endometriosis, which progressively worsened throughout the years. At age thirty-three, she was diagnosed with endometriosis via a diagnostic laparoscopy procedure. The disease advanced to multi-organ endometriosis, requiring several surgical procedures within seven months. The first two procedures did not associate endometriosis with the cause of illness. Through her own research, she found cause and resolution from her pain and suffering.
Liesel seeks to give back to the endometriosis community, donates sanitary napkins to local nonprofit organizations, and looks toward the future; she intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career and fulfillment of helping others with endometriosis.
