Professor of Personalised Medicine, Department of Health Science and Technology, Aalborg University
I am a genome researcher and data scientist with a background in molecular genetics. My interest is how DNA varies from person to person and how that shapes human health and disease.
I am particularly interested in the genetics of complex diseases and in translating genetic findings into mechanistic insight and clinical decision tools.
Key technologies are genome-wide association analysis (GWAS), linkage analysis, next-generation sequencing, polygenic risk scores, DNA methylation, RNAseq, large-scale biobanks, biomarkers, and statistical genetics.
Co-founder of CamAgon, a small spin-off company that worked to identify small compounds with a protective effect in heart failure.
