Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell
Paul J. Chung MD, FACS is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and practices General Surgery with a focus in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. He also serves as Director of the Division of Data Science for the Surgery Service Line at Northwell, as well as Director of Data Science for Integrated Solutions at Northwell and has developed AI tools that are currently being utilized to advance operations within Northwell. He is a recipient of the 2020 NBME Stemmler Grant in which he was awarded $150,000 for the project entitle "Automated Scenario Generation from Public Datasets for Simulation-based Training in Surgery" which explored the role of generative AI in surgical training. He was trained in General Surgery and received his MD degree at the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine.
