Blossom Ball 2019
WEDNESDAY, MAY 8TH - Cipriani Wall Street
Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the 10th annual Blossom Ball. It is a very special evening because we also mark the 10th anniversary of the Endometriosis Foundation of America.
The organization has always combined the expertise of doctors committed to early diagnosis and better treatment, and the endo sisterhood, committed to fighting for funding and national recognition of this disease. We have an inspiring evening planned for you. It's celebration of the courageous women who have stepped out of the secrecy, stigma and mystery that so often shapes one's experience of this disease.
All of our honorees have decided that their shared stories can help motivate change, that their raised voices will be heard, that's really why we're here tonight, to celebrate women's power to change the way our bodies are treated and healed. To fight for better funding to truly understand this disease and of course, to raise money. We've made it very easy for you to donate tonight, you'll hear more about that in a minute, but first, before we dig into dinner, we could not wait to present our first award of the evening to Fran Drescher. I'm excited too.
And so may I now welcome to the stage, Dr. Seckin, co-founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of America, a surgeon to so many in this room tonight. His commitment to the treatment off this disease is unparalleled. I can see he need no introduction. So while I was going to say, even though he is going to offer an award, let's give him a big round of applause. Let's do it one more time.
