Helpless, that’s the best way to describe how I feel and probably how our two sons feel two weeks out of every month or as Lisa said often times more than that as we watched my wife and their mother cried in pain on the living room floor. It happens four, five, to six times every day and into the night. As Lisa said debilitating pain that we can do nothing about and we desperately want to make it go away. Alexander is eight years old, our other son Carter is almost 11 and they take turns walking on Lisa’s back trying to help but they don’t know what endometriosis is and they just know that Mommy’s back hurts or Mommy’s legs hurts. I tried to help her stretch but in the end the three of us can’t give her much relief. I have never really gotten accustomed to seeing Lisa in tears 14 days out of every month and I probably never will and it’s months after months, year after year. Lisa thinks she is letting her family down but we all know better, she is courageous and her strength, will, and spirit despite her excruciating pain is what drives our family and what makes us love and adore.
